“Knock, Knock”

As a kid, I remember saying a lot of knock, knock jokes. It was all fun and games until you were staring at your friend like they had lost their mind. Trust me there is a point. Keep reading.

Do you ever feel like so many excellent  opportunities are knocking?

“Knock, Knock…”

Your pride is just keeping the door shut, but your brain keeps saying:

“Who’s there?”

You have that little prideful devil on your shoulder saying, “Not today babe. All you need is me”.  The opportunities just keep knocking….

“Knock, Knock…”

Your brain keeps asking:

“WHO’S THERE?”

Meanwhile, your pride keeps holding the door steady.

Eventually, the right opportunity is going to knock that door down. Eventually, you’re going to have to make a choice. Do you want to be stagnant OR do you want to excel?

Dreams do not become a reality by staying just dreams.

Losing Momentum= Loss In Optimism

You ever find your self saying, “It could be worse”; By that time you are chest deep in the weeds. Your anxiety is through the roof and you keep thinking, “here we go again”. Haha…

I slacked off for a couple of days, and I regret it. I kept saying, “I will do it tomorrow”. Well babe, tomorrow came and went. BUT there is a blessing in every lesson. (“A CHANGE IS GOING TO COME”)

I have learned the importance of focusing on me and my business. I have always put my needs and myself last. Probably the worst thing to do when you are trying to build–

As an infant we learn to roll from our backs to our bellies, we learn to crawl, and then we learn to walk. Through those stages, we do not give up. We keep going. What does that have to do with success?

You have to keep repeating the process of success everyday to keep seeing results. You cannot just pat yourself on the back for a few days of progress, and think you will be fine things will be better tomorrow. That is not how those before you were able to hit seven figures.

Pick up that momentum sis, it is time to get to work.

Looking for a mentor is this you?

I want a mentor who is where I want to be. Not a phony or a fake. I want someone who is living in their truth, who I can learn from. I want someone who knows the ends and outs of investing (insurance and stocks), who has successfully been able to build a brand, make seven figures, and who wants to give me a little bit of their time. To grow, I need to learn.

Update.

I went. I drove my happy butt about eight hours away to the agent summit near Atlanta. No regrets.

The major thing I learned: I AM SURROUNDED BY THE WRONG PEOPLE.

I am looking to be elevated in my career, and how can I do that without being surrounded by people who are not motivated to take the leap or the next level in this industry? It makes it tough.

I am going to stay optimistic. I am going to keep my drive.

Do Not Disturb.

If you see an ambitious person on a mission to be successful and financially free; DO NOT DISTURB them.

So many of us are so distracted by people, places, or things that we tend to lose focus on our goals–

As I am writing this I can hear my Dad’s voice: “You need to focus. Stop worrying about ____”. I will let you guess what he said. Disclaimer: He did not raise me and we are more like friends. (Well my old man does have a point).

When you are chasing your dreams or in a multimillion dollar industry, you have to stick to your plan, and follow through with it or you will get lost in the sauce.

It is important to be able to take direction and stay focused. If that direction is going to make you seven figures, guess what? Distractions gone.

Ask yourself these questions:

Is that person paying your bills?

Is that place building your book of business?

Is that “thing” going to be able to be invested?

Is that person, place, or thing an asset or a liability?

If you are saying no to all of these and all of them are liabilities, turn your mind and heart to DND; You have an empire to build.

C’est la vie.

Broker Life.

Being a broker makes life easy. Especially on dial days. Do you know how many times I hear, “what insurance company are you with?” Let’s just say about every other call.

Let me tell you, the relief I hear in people’s voices when I tell them I am a brokerage and what that means for them is astounding. I always hear them start to relax a little! Many people get calls everyday from different agents, who probably are reading the same script.
Scripts are great, but personality is better.

Being in the Life Insurance industry, you have to have merit, integrity, a willingness to listen, and the ability to learn. In my opinion that makes you stand out from the rest, and those are the type of agents I want working in my Agency.

(Recruiting in a city near you)

Back to why being a broker makes life easy: people want options. Life insurance is not a one size fits all. The quicker you learn that, the better off you will be.

Happy Friday! Remember: Kindness goes along way.

(Repeat)

“I can not control everything, but I can control what is in my bank account.”

(Repeat)

“I can not control everything, but I can control what is in my bank account.”

(Again but loudly)

“I can not control everything, but I can control what is in my bank account.”

You are successful.
You are healthy.
You are strong.
You are worth it.

Do not move in silence.
Celebrate your highs and lows.

And just one more thing: “may the odds ever be in your favor”

Atlanta.

I did it. I paid to attend my first insurance conference. I have waited and waited. It has been on my list of things I need to start doing regularly. What has kept me from attending any? Anxiety.

Being around groups of people, makes me anxious. It is crazy because I love meeting and talking to new people. I like making new friends, but there is just something about a cluster of people that makes me turn inward and get quiet.

I am someone who is always on the move. whether it is long drives to New Jersey, Chicago, or short trips Ohio, Virginia-
I have never stood still. Being in a group of people, makes me have to stand still.

I wake up every morning sometimes at 4:30 or other times by 6:00. From the early hours in the morning to late (I’m talking 11:30pm) in the evening, I stay busy.

It is going to be a new experience for me. Going to this conference is going to test me. I am counting down my days-

I am ready to get uncomfortable. Anything is possible. My bag is already packed; twelve more days to go. Atlanta here I come.

SAY WHAT?!

Buy leads. Buy leads. BUY LEADS!!!
If had the right guidance and mentor sheesh I would be on a different track right now.

I took a gamble and spent a commission check on fresh, exclusive, never resold leads.

Let me tell you what, I am never going back to relying on “warm market or aged leads”. Literally it’s a relief to finally be booking appointments back to back. Worth every dollar I spent. I am going to do it again next month. Island Girl is on the rise baby! I feel amazing!

It is so comforting that I was able to talk to clients for long periods of time, and just banter back and forth. One week down. Thousands more to go.

With that being said if you need life insurance or you are looking into having a nice retirement plan. You can book an appointment on my website:

I Begin Again.

I read someone’s Facebook post a couple days ago, and it said something along the lines of, “Don’t be afraid to begin again”.

Today, I erased old goals on my white board and made new ones. I flipped through old insurance notes I had made through the year, and had a couple of laughs. I compiled old leads and scrubbed through social media and made a new call list. I opened up a book, “Millionaire Women Next Door” by Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. (highly recommend);I read half way through the book, and so far it has given me a new perspective. Today, I made phone calls that I usually would never make. I took the initiative to study for my SIE exam. Today, I began again.

As an Insurance Agent trying to build an agency, I had to ask myself several important questions today. The biggest one I had to ask is do I want a house that is already built, but has a foundation that is cracking? OR. Do I want to start from scratch with no foundation or brick?

Guess what? I am choosing no foundation or brick. I am going to give this industry all I have. When I come out on top, I will have two running Agencies. I am focusing on what I set out to do from day one, and ignoring all of the noise.

I am unapologetically different. See you on the otherside.
